When to book

I suggest calling in at the beginning of your second trimester to discuss scheduling, booking your weekday session minimum two weeks in advance. Weekend and evening sessions are also available and should be booked at least four weeks ahead of time. 

When to photograph

The best time to schedule a maternity photo session is when the bump is large and beautifully rounded and mummy still feels at her best and comfortable. This is usually in months seven and eight. I recommend avoiding the month 9 due to hormonal changes and swelling. First-time mothers can comfortably select a date in the month eight and second time mummies in a month seven.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR maternity SESSION

Maternity sessions take up to 2 hours. This includes make up and hair touch ups, outfit changes and little breaks that you may need. At the moment, I am offering studio and location (your home) maternity photography sessions. Please specify which one you would like in your enquiry email. 

All viewing and ordering sessions are held at the studio 15 days after your photo session where you will have a chance to view all images and discuss retouching and product options.

What to bring along

Clothing Wear whatever you feel beautiful and comfortable in. We all have our favourite maternity dress so do bring it in! Tube dresses are great for showing off your shape, regular jeans and a tank tops are great for casual images. I always aim to photograph some lingerie images too. This is of course if you are comfortable and happy to go ahead only. 

There are several maternity gowns at the studio available for you to use. Should you like to wear any of my maternity gowns, you will be required to bring one pair of white, black and nude colour underwear. Please note that bras and underwear will create noticeable lines on your skin, so wear loose-fitting clothing to your photo session.

Extras Ultrasound prints, pregnancy test and baby shoes make great personalised images. Feel free to bring them along!

Make Up & Hair Apply your make up and do you hair to your liking at home before coming in for your photo session. 

A professional make up artist can be arranged at additional cost. Please enquire about this option when booking in your photography session.
