When to book

Ideally, please try to arrange your session during your pregnancy. Feel free to contact me at any stage of your pregnancy and I will be happy to discuss and book your session. Once you’ve confirmed, I will give you a provisional booking date within 7 days of your due date. Don’t worry I know due dates don’t always go according to plan, so once your baby arrives, just let me know and I will adjust our session date.

When to photograph

The best time to photograph newborn babies is between 7 and 14 days old. Smaller babies (5 - 6 pounds / 2 - 3kg) may be photographed at 12 - 14 days, while bigger babies should be photographed at 7 - 10 days of age.

What to expect from your newborn session

A newborn session takes anywhere between 3 - 4 hours. This may seem a long time, but it allows for plenty of time for feeding, changing and settling breaks your baby may need. I don’t rush this process in any way. We will be photographing your baby on their own, as well as including siblings and parents.

You’re welcome to do your hair and makeup in a way that feels most like you. Alternatively, if you prefer I can arrange for a professional make up artist for an additional fee - please let me know when you book. 

I understand that new mums can go through a difficult recovery, feeling tired, delicate, emotional, and even more tired! I have great post production skills and whenever necessary I can remove any signs of stress of the first few weeks of birth. While your baby is a bundle of perfection, it can be a difficult time for you so rest assured you will look as vibrant and fresh as your baby!

Your gallery will be delivered via Online Gallery within 10 days. You will be able to view and share this with your family members and decide on your final digital selection. Wall art prints available upon client request.

What to bring along

Anything that you and your baby might need, but don’t forget lots of nappies, a pacifier, and plenty of formula.
